Marc Gottlieb worked in the foodservice industry in New York, in every position from deli clerk to restaurant manager. His natural talents as chef de cuisine developed while serving as salad/dessert chef and eventually roundsman at Abigael’s Restaurant in Cedarhurst, chef at New Star Caterers, and garde manger at Jem Prestige Caterers in Woodbury, NY. He apprenticed under the most skilled chefs at the forefront of the New York kosher culinary industry.
After taking an extended hiatus as a professional chef and caterer, Marc is once again offering his culinary talent, experience and expertise as a teacher, private chef, caterer and foodservice consultant in and around the Jerusalem area. His first publicly available cookbook, Kitchen Confident – Cooking Without Reservation contains over two hundred recipes, articles, tips and tricks on gaining confidence in the kitchen. His popup restaurant, neshama, is the realization of every chef’s dream.
